Meetings

Cincinnati MadCap Flare User Group meetings are typically casual events held once a month on Saturday mornings at a local coffee shop or restaurant. Each meeting focuses on topics related to MadCap Flare, such skin design and micro content. We also discuss topics of general interest to technical writers, such as proving the return on investment for online help and documentation. Members are encouraged to share their expertise and request topics that interest them.

Meeting dates for 2020 are listed below. Locations are announced closer to the meeting dates. You must RSVP to attend so we can reserve a table. Meetings will be canceled if less then 3 people can attend.

Unless other wise specified, meetings are for members only.

Note: For the safety and well-being of our members, in-person meetings have been temporarily postponed. We will be holding virtual meetings via Zoom.   Micro Content Strategy: Best Practices for Planning and Implementing Micro Content in Your Flare Project, featuring Paul Stoecklein, MadCap Documentation Director

  Have you heard about micro content and want to include it in your Flare project, but need some help figuring out a strategy to integrate it with your existing content?

  In our meeting, Paul will answer common micro content questions, including:

  • What is micro content?
  • Why would I want to use it?
  • How can I implement it quickly?
  • What is MadCap’s story on using it for their own documentation?
  • What are some tips and tricks?
  • What should I watch out for?

  • Have you discovered a cool new feature in Flare you'd like to share?
  • Would you like to get feedback on a project?
  • Any best practices you'd like to share?
  • How has working remotely worked for you? Any victories or challenges?
  • And anything else that comes up!
